This course teaches you how to search and navigate in Splunk, use fields, get statistics from your data, create reports, dashboards, lookups, and alerts. Scenario-based examples and hands-on challenges will enable you to create robust searches, reports, and charts. It will also introduce you to Splunk’s datasets features and Pivot interface.

Getting Started

To take the course you will need to do a couple things first.

  • Download and install Splunk! This is required. Need help? Follow this tutorial.
  • Follow the link to the training.
  • Create an account.
  • Register for the course using the eLearning option.
  • Add the course to cart.
  • Checkout.
  • Enter your account information in the required fields.
  • Agree to the terms.
  • Check your email for a registration confirmation and link to the eLearning tool.

note:

There are some things you need to be aware of before considering taking the course. Once you start the course, you only have 30 days to complete it. And you can only complete the training once. What does this mean?

According to the license agreement,

access to eLearning courses expires 30 days from the date of registration and access cannot be extended or reset. eLearning courses can only be completed once. (Splunk recommends registering for one eLearning class at a time)

Once you get your email confirmation for your registration, you are directed to launch the training course using the Splunk eLearning test tool. Go ahead and launch the tool. Remember once you hit Start you only have 30 days to finish.
